Be One Percent is a Great way to Give
We believe giving is good, and by giving together we make it great. By asking for 1% from all our donors, we ask for more from those who can afford more and less from those who can afford less. By doing this we create a giving mechanism that maximizes the giving power of the collective. (based on a typical cross section of 1%Members, 100 people giving 1% will raise 20 times as much as the same 100 people giving £2 a month instead)
Be One Percent is a Smart way to Give
We partner with 5 charitable organisations each year. These charities work effectively in poverty alleviation in the world’s poorest countries. They work internationally, with local communities, to maximise impact on the ground; and they have strong feedback mechanisms to quantify their impact. Once you’re a 1%Member, you get a monthly email that explains what the Big 1% Pot has achieved.
Be One Percent is a Efficient way to Give
All our partner charities have low running costs. This means that your donations are an efficient investment. Some of the larger, well known charities have been criticised for having high marketing budgets, high staff wages and high fundraising costs.
Be One Percent ‘weeds out’ these organisations, finding those making the most from the least, and wasting good donations on advertising and street vendors. All our partner Charities have running costs below 10%.
